Hair's what it's all about....

Black Hair is what I was blessed with, but it took a long time to accept the blessing! I think I was thirteen when I got my first home relaxer. My brother George's girlfriend, Tina, put it in, it didn't quite get straight! There was always resistance, whenever I attempted to have the tight curls that now resemble springs release their grips and relax, they would only play possum. On occasion I'd get lucky and the relaxer would actually "TAKE" and I'd have hair that was straight for about a month. Relaxer was never meant for my hair, I know women who get relaxers and never have a problem, I wasn't one of them and I really should have determined that fact long ago! However, in the final years of having relaxed hair, it had been hell! Every other time I'd burn, I think my scalp was literally rebelling. It was just saying "NO"! My hair was starting to fall out and I had a spot of my scalp that was about the size of a nickle completely bald. I was at an empasse. So I decided to give the relaxer a break, or was it my scalp and hair? I got a loc weave! My plan was to allow my scalp to rest and my hair to strengthen before I resumed relaxing....(kind of stupid) In the interim what I found was that I loved the get up and go hair locs and I received compliments all the time and then the light bulb came on hmmmm.... I think I can actually obtain this look with my own hair!!!

I started searching for a loctician and researching locs, on-line I found an interesting hairstlyle phenomenom, Sisterlocks. There was a loc look that I preferred. I could be free and natural, without wearing a TWA or a bush all my life. The hunt for the loctician is on!!!
